Getting over the flu with TBI

I wasn't sure how to start writing this blog. If you're dealing with long term TBI issues then you might relate. The flu hit me like a ton of bricks on Saturday. Couldn't figure out what hurt more...my stomach, my legs, my head. I'm pretty sure I was running quite the fever as well as witnessed by the lovely ballerina who chose to pirouette in the middle of my hotel room. The next three days have been a blur of the usual flu symptoms (I won't go into details but you know what I mean). All of this meant I was off my usual anti-anxiety, anti-psychotic meds for two whole days (that explains the constant electrical discharges I kept hearing go off inside my head, as well as the ringing and humming noises). Getting sick is no picnic but getting sick, going off your meds, and starting to feel again like you have no control over your senses is frustrating. I started back on my meds again and, sure enough, within 48 hours my world was back to its usual tenuously manageable state.
